Music Of The City - „Once A Year“

Off Town Music’s musicians and producers Tom Schlüter and Valery Brusilovsky have made Frankfurts musical visiting card audible. Under the title ‘Music Of The City’ they have laid a unique portrait of sound on cd, a declaration of love for the city that sits on the river main and its music.

How does Frankfurt sound? It sounds like the 'Alte Oper' (the old opera house) and 'Albert Mangelsdorff', like the 'Großes Stadtgeläute' (Frankfurt’s largest chimes) and Snap!, like ‚Hindemith’ and ‚Musikmesse’ (International trade fair for music.) They all have different musical styles and directions, therefore completely different personalities and institutions, but they all belong to Frankfurt and that is why they belong together. Because this new production has been built around original samples, ‘Music Of The City’ isn’t just a collection of existing songs but a completely new work which allows composers, musicians and institutions who would never have met on stage to meet.

The song ‚Once A Year’ is a specifically composed sound collage, which recreates the sounds and moods of a tour around the Musikmesse.
